Ben Bayles Visit

Apr 24, 2018

It’s always a blessing when people with whom we have a connection come visit and see the work they are supporting. Last month, Ben Bayles - from Memorial Church of Christ in Houston - came over to Malawi for a few days to visit our family and see the work at Namikango, after visiting another ministry in South Africa.

Ben (who is now helping to lead the Missions Committee at Memorial) and his wife were some of the first people we met at Memorial when Becca and I first moved to Houston. Ben and I also share an affiliation for Mechanical Engineering and worked together at Cameron in Houston for several years.

His visit here was the first time in quite a few years that we’ve actually been able to visit for any significant time, and we were blessed by the opportunity. Ben had a chance to meet our staff and learn about the different ministries and staff members leading those ministries, as well as taking a trip out into the village to meet one VSL group in action.

We also had some time to relax, seeing some of the beauty of Malawi. Ben made up for not being with his own children by playing with Braylon, Brooklyn, and Britain.

We’re grateful to have had the time together and, as always, we’re grateful for the encouragement and support we receive from Memorial and for their helping to make it possible for Ben to come.
