“Overwhelmed by Namikango!”

Aug 30, 2018

As I listened to our missionaries’ report on their work at Namikango Mission at our Annual Board Meeting, I was struck with how overhelming this work has become. Having grown up hearing about Namikango it’s easy to take it all for granted. But as I listened to reports of the missionaries my appreciation kept growing;

. . . and so much more!

And then to hear how the Malawians are responding to all this with such enthusiasm as hundreds, even thousands, are involved in these great works, well, I couldn’t help but sit there and give praise to God for allowing this Mission, that was born when I was a small child, to grow up into such a mature work.

As I listened it struck me how two verses that describe the growth and work of Jesus also describe Namikango. One in Luke 2, "Jesus grew in wisdom and stature and in favor with God and man," the other in Luke 4, "The Spirit of the Lord is on me, because he has anointed me to proclaim good news to the poor. He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners and recovery of sight for the blind, to set the oppressed free, to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favor."

Let me encourage you to pray for our missionary families and the growing Namikango staff as they oversee this overwhelming Mission, and as much as you are able, please give to the financial support of this amazing work! Every dollar you give will be multiplied a hundredfold!
