P.F.Nsalira is our eldest office worker and according to African culture receives the respect of the younger men.  Lendal asked him to assist brother Jekete in leading the other office staff back in 2004 and later when Jekete moved to Mozambique, brother Nsalira was named office administrator.  He has won the love and respect of the other office staff members because of his loving low key approach and zeal.  Although 66 he rarely takes a day off and only an unsual Sunday finds him  not teaching or preaching at some distant point.

Brother Nsalira has been on staff at Namikango Bible School since 2001 and his earlier years found him doing a variety of jobs.  He began his professional life as a grade school teacher before moving on to work as a store keeper on a large farm for 20 years.  Likewise, his spiritual development goes far back and takes some turns.  He first came to the Lord back in 1968 after studying with Press Higginbotham, an American missionary.  He was also influenced by gospel tracts that came from Namikango Bible School, a place he never dreamed that he would one day be serving.  Finally, after be challenged by the gospel he studied intensely for a full week at a congregation in Blantyre before making his decision to come to Christ.

Years later on his spiritual path a marriage issue led him away from the Lord for a time, but Lendal helped him sort his life out and restore him for service.

By 1991 brother Nsalira had decided to increase his knowledge for service and came to Namikango, completing the Bible school program in 1994.  In 2001 he came on staff as a teacher and office worker.  We rely heavily on this gentle brother because of his great knowledge of the congregations that we work with and his tact in dealing with people.  Whenever church leaders come to see us, it is in his office that they are received and where arrangements are made for visits and cooperation in the Lord's work.

He told me that his favorite part of the work is teaching because he learns most when preparing for class.  He also has enjoyed the new ideas and ways of doing things that have been introduced in the past year by our new assistant director Bisani Mphongolo.  I have noticed that brother Nsalira always loves new ideas and ways of improving his service.

His favorite verse is John 3:36 because of the great promise found there that believers will receive salvation even though they are not perfect.  And he revealed something of his heart to me when he told me that his passion is to become more active in sharing this salvation with others.
